So When Is My Pet Considered Senior?

It depends….human years do not equate to pet years and with dogs for example, size matters. Breed also plays an important role with your pup. For example, smaller breeds mature more quickly in their first few years of life. Like us though, there are lots of variables to old age and a proactive approach to helping our pets find the fountain of youth is possible.

It takes a long time to grow an old friend

~John Leonard

Blitz (the handsome white cat) and Darby (the golden girl) were lifelong pals and best friends. Both were rescues and lived under the same roof together for 13 years before passing within a few months of each other at the ripe old ages of 18 and 16 years old.

What a gift to witness their friendship and healthy long lives!

Supplements and medication should be given consistently in order to see results. Mobility can be greatly improved with the right supplement which can increase joint lubrication and reduce pain.

Beware of sharing your human supplements with your pets.  You could easily overdose your furry friend and some contain elements  (such as zinc, iron, vitamins A, D, E, & K, and calcium ) which may lead to  complications that could even threaten your pet’s  life.  ALWAYS CONSULT WITH YOUR VET!

Lucky 13!

Since I normally rescue all my pets from various shelters and they also tend to be the older ones, I seldom know their "story". Coal was different and the first puppy in my home in over 25 years. I was reading a story in the Denver Post about a litter of lab puppies...
